4/17/25 I rate this cigar at 90. Purchased 5 pack from Cigars Daily. The Desert Walker Story: Justin Andrews came to visit Tim Swanson for an episode of Cigars Daily LIVE. It was a nice ‘warm’ day in Arizona, and Tim accidentally locked himself and Justin out of the Cigars Daily building before the show. However, the show must go on. So Justin and Tim had no choice but to make a lengthy walk through the Arizona desert to collect a spare key to the building. Afterward, Justin vowed not to visit Cigars Daily ever again. However, Tim’s deep love for the Diesel Boxergrail and Diesel Vintage Maduro sparked up a passion to create a cigar the combines the best qualities of those two blends. After some convincing, Justin agreed to create the Desert Walker… but made Tim promise that he would never have to weather the Arizona desert ever again. Length In Inches 5.25 Ring Gauge 54 Shape Robusto Wrapper Connecticut Broadleaf, Pennsylvania Binder Habano Filler Honduras, Nicaragua Strength Full Country of Origin Nicaragua Cigar Brand Daily Edition, Diesel FIRST THIRD Great looking cigar! Smoked at 61%RH which was perfect. Started off with primary notes of dark chocolate with sweetness from the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Undertones are cocoa and dried fruit (plum). Retrohale is baking spice and plum. Leather and earthiness comes into later as an undertone. Flavors are medium plus. Strength is full-minus. Body is medium-full with a thick creamy smoke texture. Construction is flawless. Ash is thick and chunky. Ash holds. Great complexity to start this third. SECOND THIRD The spice ramps up with black pepper and plum. Primary flavors are earthiness and cocoa. Undertones are leather, earth and sweetness. Flavor is medium plus. Strength is full. Body is medium-full with creamy texture. Construction flawless. Earth takes over at end of this third and therfore not as complex. FINAL THIRD Earth is the primary note. Faint Undertones of cocoa, black pepper and plum. The sweetness is gone. Retrohale is very peppery with black and red bouncing back and forth. Flavors less complex and in the medium range. Strength is full. Body is medium with a lighter smoke texture. I believe this cigar will only get better with age.
